Koets Plumbing goes to finals in the 4th Annual CFB Trenton Pond Hockey Classic

What can be more Canadian than pond hockey?  This past weekend saw 30 teams entered in the 4th Annual CFB Trenton Pond Hockey Classic held in Batawa on the Batawa Lions Community Rinks.  It was a real priviledge to be able to enter a Koets Plumbing team to help support both Soldier On and Trenton Memorial Hospital Foundation.

The weekend kicked off with a semi formal fund raising dinner held at the Batawa Community Center.  It was an evening of fun and fellowship with great live auction items auctioned off by our very own Jim Nelson, a wonderful meal provided by Occassions by the Bay, and wine from The Grange.

The best part of the evening, at least for me, was listening to the guest speaker Sgt. Chris Downey.  Sgt. Downey is a wounded Afghanistan veteran who participated in the Trek to the Antactic with Prince Harry in 2013.  His is a story of survival and courage!

The weather was perfect on Saturday and Sunday as the 30 teams battled to get to the finals.  The Koets Plumbing team played three games on Saturday and five games on Sunday.  It was an exciting weekend for the Koets Plumbing team.  We are very proud of them.
