It has been a long, snowy winter in the Quinte West and Brighton area with a lot of snowfall.  Sunshine and mild temperatures are ideal conditions for the melting of snow.  However, Quinte West and Brighton are expecting a heavy rainfall today and tomorrow and this can lead to flooded basements and water damage. 

Take the time to ensure that your sump pump is working properly.  It is also a good idea to check around the outside of your home to make sure that there are not any areas where water can build up and drain into your basement.  Water can create a lot of damage so taking some precautions may prevent a call to your insurance company.
